I will start this post by saying we had NO plan or previous experience when we went into this project. I had a vision, our mediocre DIY skills and the will to make it happen. I’m not one for ‘resolutions’ because why wait for a new year to start making a change? I do however love the excitement, cleanse, empowerment and optimism that surrounds a new year.
I do love setting realistic, achievable goals for the new year on Jan 1. In 2019 I made some serious changes and crushed some serious goals. I lost 50 pounds, I practiced an act of self-care monthly, became comfortable with being misunderstood, and turned my focus to the family that loves & supports us.
I’ve got even bigger goals for 2020. Follow along for all my weight-loss tips, tasty recipes, favorite things and more!
We’ve been embracing summertime with arms wide open so far this year. Slip’n’slides, bounce houses, block parties & pool days! As the kids get older, we want to make a little list of things we hope to do over the summer. It seems like the weeks fly by so quickly, so it’s fun to have a few things mapped out that we want to accomplish.
I love reading blogs. There is something very special about being submerged in someone else’s words & photos. It suddenly dawned on me [and the continuing visitor stats kept popping up] that other people may have felt the same way about my blog, and there was nothing new for people to get lost in.

In the summer you spend countless hours outside and in the sun. Remember to take care of your body and skin. Check out my Top 5 Summer 2017 favorites below to give yourself quick, fresh summer makeup; a new shake go-to and keep your skin and hair fresh!
While this post is a moot point now, it was super fun and easy so I had to share. It’s a good one to keep in your back pocket when Easter rolls around again.
Last year at Easter, Gunnar was too small to understand or participate. This year was a different ball game. We dyed eggs, did multiple eggs hunts and celebrated with family.
We dyed our Easter eggs with Cool Whip, yes you read that right. The sweet, sticky dessert topping! We all loved every delicious moment of it. Continue reading →
Leep & I have been together for 5 years today. Happy Dateversary, Babe!
In honor of our 5 years, I thought I would give a quick 5 tips that have helped us make it through these last 5 years. Then, who doesn’t love a good photo montage?
This past weekend during their ‘Stock the Bar’ housewarming party, surrounded by everyone they love, Leep’s brother Jeremy popped the question and was answered with an excited – Yes!
Congrats Uncle Worm & Auntie Ash!
We were the only two in on the when & where details so we decided to surprise them with his & her engagement gifts right after the proposal to start the celebrating early. Most people will gift a bottle of wine, a Congratulations card or some other generic gift. Why not mix it up and give something a little more personal and meaningful. Here’s what we put in our gifts…
